Are you sitting in the office, working while looking forward to the weekend or a day off?
Do you hate Monday as if it’s the beginning of something terrible?
Do you feel excited to wake up every day and enjoy your life?
It comes as no surprise that most young people would say “Yes” for the first 2 questions and “No. I don’t think so” for the last one.
Everyone’s working for the weekend
Oftentimes in Western countries, people express their gratification for the working week is nearly over by saying “Thank God It’s Friday” (TGIF) to each other with excitement.
There’s no right or wrong in doing that. In fact, we celebrate Fridays and weekends as if they’re our leisure escape. They take us far away from the “nightmares” we have to face during the whole long week.
However, don’t you think that Mondays don’t suck if you’re doing the job you love?
It’s your attitude that could turn Mondays to Fridays. And weekends or weekdays would make no difference. You’re just grateful for the day you’re still able to live and create values for your life.
That’s why it’s so important to look for the energy that you can bring to everything you’re doing at the moment. As you find no interest in your job or at least the energy to start your day, then you’re wasting rather than living your life.
Most people “die” in their 20s
Benjamin Franklin once said: “Most people die at age 25 and aren’t buried until they are 75”. What does it mean to die at age 25?
You’re not physically dead, of course. It’s when you live without any purposes, hope, goals, dreams or ambition, you’re just dead inside.
Do you find yourself trying to kill time instead of seizing every moment? Are you just waiting for the weekend, day-off, holiday, retirement, and eventually, your actual death?
Nothing is scarier than to live without a purpose. You must already know that it’s not impossible to have one. It could be anything, money, fame, popularity or just simply happiness. Pick one and live for it.
You only have one life, so you’d better live it right. Be courageous, take chances and do anything that energizes you. Seriously, anything. At the end of the day, you will only regret the things you haven’t done rather than the things you have.
Everyday is a new day
How you live your life matters more than what you’re doing. Even when it’s a job you don’t like, you can always find ways to enjoy it. Let’s not waste any moment.
You might never have imagined that one day people will say “Thank God It’s Monday”. It’s Monday so that they can be back to the job they love, to creating values and making progress in both their professional and personal life. Weekend still does exist, but it only means a break rather than an escape.
The way you think or look at things matters most, as it helps form your action or attitude toward life. In fact, some people have found no boundaries between weekdays and weekends anymore.
Everyday is a new beginning, you might think you’re still young and still have time. But time is flying by so fast that one day you might not have enough time to do everything you’ve ever wanted anymore.
Pros don’t escape!
Nobody says it’s easy, but they’re all trying hard instead of giving up. It’s simply because we don’t get the second chance to live. Life doesn’t stop for anyone. Right at this moment when you’re looking for an escape, others are looking for ways to better their life.
Undoubtedly, no one wants to mentally die at age 25. Youth is the best time of life, you’d better make the most of it. You have all the time, health and energy you need to make a difference in life. So why not live up to your full potential?
