Empty Vessels Make the Most Noise
This common proverb refers to those with limited knowledge and the least talent are the ones who usually speak the loudest and the most.
Obviously, no one wants these people in the organization. But, they will still appear in our life at certain times. It’s quite easy to spot “empty vessels” since they’d annoy everyone and do not bring any value to the company in the long run. They’re Mister and Misses “Know-It-All”, they’d rather talk than listen to anyone else.
If one just talks and talks all the time, then when will they actually do something rather than making a fuss about themselves? Therefore, “empty vessels” stand no chance to stay in a company for long.
Actions Speak Louder than Words
At Ymese, we believe in the saying that actions speak louder than words.
That’s why we prefer doing rather than talking. And words must always be accompanied with actions at all costs.
Each one of us has our own ways of doing things. Some choose to talk a lot about what they’re going to do and how promising the result will look. Meanwhile, others prefer working in silence and let success make the noise.
Whether you belong to the former or the latter or any other types, at the end of the day, the only thing that matters is what you’ve done and accomplished on top of what you’ve said. Words would be just words. They mean nothing without actions being taken.
Credibility Matters
We need to have some talkers to encourage ideas and discussion, and to create a dynamic working atmosphere. But the ideal employee would be someone who can be a talker and a doer at the same time. Those who value their words and do whatever it takes to accomplish what they’ve said are like gems and will always be appreciated regardless.
Trust must be earned. Building trust takes time and a lot of efforts. As you live your life, you’re also building your credibility bank. Every time you do what you say you will, only a small deposit is made. But every time you fail to do what you promise to do, a large withdrawal is taken from your bank. So make sure you’re making a lot of deposits to your bank!
Simply put, if you can say it, then you’ve got to do it. Stop fooling around and get the work started today.
